Methodology

How We Score

Supplemetrics uses a deterministic, transparent scoring system. We do not use AI to generate scores. Every score is calculated based on hard data points: ingredient dosages, chemical forms, and price.

Match Score (0-100%)

The Match Score represents how well a product fits your search intent or compares to a target product.

  • Ingredient Overlap: Do the products share the same active ingredients?
  • Dosage Similarity: Is the dosage comparable (within 20%)?
  • Goal Alignment: Does the product contain ingredients proven to support the target goal?

Value Score (0-100)

The Value Score is a calculated metric of "Cost per Effective Dose".

  • Price Analysis: We calculate the price per gram of active ingredients, not just price per serving.
  • Bioavailability Adjustment: Cheaper forms of ingredients (e.g., Magnesium Oxide) are penalized compared to bioavailable forms (e.g., Magnesium Glycinate).
  • Transparency Penalty: Products using "Proprietary Blends" receive a significant score deduction because dosages cannot be verified.

Confidence Level

Indicates the completeness of the data we have for a product.

  • High: Complete label data, third-party testing available.
  • Medium: Label data available, some minor details missing.
  • Low: Incomplete data or significant proprietary blends.
